I bought this frame for $1 at a local thrift store a few months ago. I had spray painted it white and that's about as far as I got. Yesterday, I decided to turn it into a burlap message board:
I cut a piece of foam board to fit the frame. Then I used some spray glue adhesive to add my burlap.
Once that was dry, I hot glued some metal clips to the front. Then I added some chalkboard tags. Feeling Frenchy, I wrote numbers 1-6 in French onto each tag.
As a finishing touch, I used a grungy red safety pin to add the Eiffel Tower image. I have it propped on a music stand in the tea room. Total cost: $1!

Cute! Love the clips you added.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool idea. I want to do a board kind of like this myself. Still deciding if I want to do burlap or a cork board one. Either way, I want to paint some sort of stencil design on it. I love the french numbered chalk tags on yours. Such a cool touch! ~ Jamie
ReplyDeleteWow is this cute! I love this idea and adding the chalkboard tags is great because you're getting the pretty burlap board AND the chalkboard tags to write on.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out really cute and is a clever way to up the oomph of a regular message board.
