I'm Going to Need A Lot of Glitter
Oh boy! I wanted to do a copycat of these Pottery Barn Christmas houses.
Doh! A little bigger than I was expecting.
The small one is just right. The other two? Well, they are going to need a lot of glitter. The moral of my story: read the measurements before buying. Now, wish me luck!

Those are going to be darling...and isn't there a saying about "the bigger the better"? Can't wait to see them glittered. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI loved those glittery little houses when i was young..and here's an idea for helping to save on glitter...pearlized paint!
ReplyDeleteIt will give them a soft glow to start with, and then you'll be able to spread the glitter a little thinner..we all want to see the results, please...
They could be really beautiful, though! My misreading usually is something arrives that is much smaller than what I thought. : ) Don't they make a paint with glitter in it? I thought I saw something at one of the craft stores one time - either Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too much glitter! Can't wait to see how your houses turn out, what a fun project!!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have so much fun with these. I too am working on some white houses like this and yes, it takes lots of glitter. LOL But we can never have too much right?? Yours are going to be wonderful.

p.s. sometime JoAnne Fabric has some smaller paper mache houses in their dollar section. They are ornament styles but you can cut off the hanger if needed.
a word of advice…when completed, spray acrylic over the glitter or it will be all over your house - or even coat with glitter spray! Good luck - can't wait to see them finished.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful idea! I adore those glitter houses so much! I cannot wait to see yours.
ReplyDeleteYour comments mean so much to me - thank you!
