A craft, food, fashion, home & shopping blog

Okay, who hasn't snatched up these adorable faux eggs from Target's Dollar Spot?  I grabbed three cartons during my last trip and decided to dress them up.  Heck, I even painted the carton they came in!
I'm not decorating for Easter yet - but I do love bunnies and eggs (must run in the family because my mom and sister, Kathy do too!) and keep them out year-round.
I dressed up my eggs using French book paper, vintage sheet music, vintage lace, twine and other embellishments.  I used white Deco Art chalk paint on the carton.
I finished up by adding faux Dollar Store moss to the carton.  A super easy and super cute way to dress up your eggs this spring.

I have a ton of old clipboards lying about the house.  Some I've used for other projects and some were just collecting dust.  I broke out a couple out over the weekend to upcycle.
I used some black Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for this project.  Now I know ASCP isn't actually chalkboard paint, but it worked perfectly for what I had in mind.
I gave each clipboard a couple of coats of paint.

Using white label paper, I cut out the word love using my Cricut. Simply peel and stick and you have a faux chalkboard clipboard. Here it is, hanging in my kitchen.  I am waiting on a new Cricut cartridge for what I have planned for the second one.

Anyone else suffering from cabin fever????  I know I am.  That's why we had to get out to our local church thrift store on Friday.  I got a pretty good haul for $5.
They were having a $1 bag sale on books, so we loaded up.
Lots of great vintage books!
This pretty, shabby dish was only $1.
I also picked up this case with lots of vintage thread - and eggs?! Not sure how the eggs fit into the equation, but I'm sure I'll find a use for them with Easter coming.

My husband picked up a heavy duty sweatshirt and the boys picked out a bunch of books too.  Not bad for $5!

I found this idea on Pinterest - on the Better Homes & Gardens board.  Saw it and immediately fell in love with it.
Problem was they didn't say where the decals came from.  After a little research, I found an Etsy shop called Twistmo and guess what?  They had the exact same decals.
Since my hubby had off today, I put him to work helping me add the decals to our steps.  They were super easy to apply to the wood.
I couldn't get a full shot of the steps so I'm sharing bits and pieces.
It's amazing how something so small could make such a big impact. I'm loving the look.  If you're interested, the decals cost $22 for numbers 0-15.  The link to Twistmo's shop is above.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's ready for spring.  We're having frigid temperatures here and more snow is in the forecast.  I'm having a hard time finding my crafting mojo and battling yet another winter cold.  Grrrr...yes, I am definitely ready for spring.

I picked up a bunch of these round hat boxes for $1 from our local thrift store last week.  I gave my 7 year old one to use for his toys and I started making over this one over the weekend.
First I painted it grey using Annie Sloan chalk paint.
I know, you can barely tell but the paint is there.
I hot glued some vintage lace around the bottom and the lid.  The French graphic is from the Graphics Fairy - it's one of my faves.  I printed it onto vintage sheet music and glued that to the top.
I finished up by adding a fabric flower and BINGO number.

I have two more to go!

Just sharing some random Valentine's Day touches about the house.
This little dish is from Home Goods.
I made this LOVE tea towel using my Cricut, fabric paint and an Ikea flour sack.
Some of these you might remember from last year...
And previous posts.
Dollar store heart wands.
Pottery Barn-knockoff LOVE candles.
More love...and the O part of my XO frames.
Yes, there is a lot of love in the house!

This is what my White Wednesday looks like - with more on the way.  And here's how I'm keeping my sanity:
Playing with this cloche/bell jar I got from Michael's a couple of weeks ago.  I propped it on a stack of vintage books.
And added an embellished bottle and cute bunny tag that my sister sent me with some fabric bunnies I got from her Etsy shop.
I also added some French book paper to the bottom of the jar.

I'm loving the look and enjoying shopping the house since getting around has been a bit of a challenge this week.

Just sharing some new tags I've added to my Etsy shop.
Some Frenchy bunny ones for Easter.
Some pretty religious ones.
And more bunnies - these have a French script background.
