I'm off to the fair this weekend.   The Country Living magazine fair in Rhinebeck, NY, that is.

I've never been to one before and would love to hear from anyone who's attended one in the past.  We already have the wagon, sunscreen, comfy shoes, etc. all ready.  Just hoping the weather cooperates.

Rhinebeck is just a couple of hours from us so we're making a day trip of it.  I'm so excited!

Reminder: tomorrow is the last day to enter my DIY Mason Jars book giveaway!

Just a few small, random projects I was working on over the weekend.
Upcycled Starbucks bottles.  I printed off this great image from The Graphics Fairy...
...onto label paper.  Give it a few coats of clear spray paint, peel and stick!  And of course, I had to add some tea-stained seam binding in a girly pink.
I love using the tissue paper method to embellish peat pots.  This lovely religious image is also courtesy of The Graphics Fairy.  After I painted my pots white, I used Mod Podge to glue it onto the front of the pot.  Then I do another coat on top.  Going to fill it with some shredded sheet music.
Last up are these craft pillow boxes that I hand-stamped.  The one in the back has French script with a skeleton key.  I gave that one a rhinestone embellishment and pink tea-stained seam binding.  The other features French script with an Eiffel Tower postmark with black seam binding.  Will definitely be making more of these - especially around the holidays.

Linking to The Graphics Fairy: Brag Monday.

Holy moly were there a lot of garage sales here today!  I could hardly contain myself.  I didn't want to go to crazy though as we're going to the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY soon.  But I did manage to pick up a few goodies.
This vintage kitchen storage piece is just too cool.  I would love to keep it but I don't have room in the kitchen so it's in my Etsy shop.  The words book I actually bought for my 7 year old.  He's always asking how to spell words so I'm hoping this will be a good reference for him.
I never pass up peat pots.  The bunny is also listed in my Etsy shop, along with a bag of smaller ones.
Not sure if you can see but I got two brand new tote bags for $1.  Hoping to find a nice nautical design I can add to at least one of them this summer.

Not a bad haul for a Saturday morning!

**Don't forget to enter my DIY Mason Jars book giveaway here!**

I stopped at a local garage sale this morning on my way home from the post office.  Much of it was overpriced ($15 for a wreath, c'mon!), but I did score this cute little bicycle planter.  It was marked $5 but I got it for $4 (it's never to early in the morning to haggle!).
It was pretty rusty so I knew it would immediately get a few coats of spray paint.  Since it's so warm out here today, I was able to do two coats in less than an hour!  Here it is now:
I like that it's still a bit chippy but no more rusty spots.  It's holding an actual bird's nest that we recovered last year.
I'm thinking of adding some chicks and hens (or is it hens and chicks?!) to the other two baskets.

I had the opportunity to review a great, new book called DIY Mason Jars.  If you love Mason jar projects, this is definitely the book for you!
It features 35 different projects, including how to make your own Mason jar soap dispenser, snow globes and pendant light fixtures.  Written and illustrated by Melissa Averinos, DIY Mason Jars features clear, step-by-step instructions and gorgeous 4-color photos.  Here are some of my faves:
Mason jar lid pumpkin.  Can't wait to try this for Halloween!
Faux mercury glass jars.  And my all time fave...
First aid jars!  I loved the look so much that I braved the rain yesterday to make my own!
Super, duper easy!  I just followed Melissa's instructions and voila!
You can find DIY Mason Jars at Amazon.  The folks at F+W/Adams Media were kind enough to provide a copy for me to giveaway.  C'mon, you know you want it!  To enter:
