I've had this little basket for a few years now. I can't recall where I bought it, but we've used it to hold plastic cutlery whenever we have a party. This year, we left it outside and the elements left it a little discolored. After I chased all the little spiders out of it, I gave it a quick makeover:

I don't have a before photo but it was kind of a natural wood color. I gave it the same color I gave our knife block a week or so ago. I also added a cute little fork, knife and spoon image (from the Graphics Fairy) with some twine.

I think our plastic cutlery will look sweeter in this now thanks to the vibrant color!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend! I whipped up these candlesticks last week and just put the finishing touches on them this morning.

I spray painted each one black to start. I don't work with glitter a lot (mainly because I seem to get more on me than my actual project), but I wanted to make the smaller two stand out. I covered them with Mod Podge and then just sprinkled orange glitter on. I gave them a coat of clear spray paint hoping it would hold the glitter on better. Nope. Still shedding.

I added some of my French script candles to each stick. For the smaller two, I printed out the boo letters from The Graphics Fairy onto label paper and simply stuck them on. For the middle candle, I tied on a trick or treat tag (image also from The Graphics Fairy).

The finishing touches were the orange seam binding and black tulle ribbons. Happily, I had everything I needed to make these.

Not sure if there are linky parties tomorrow because of Labor Day, but I am hoping to link up to The Graphics Fairy: Brag Monday and Between Naps on the Porch: Met Monday.

This is the last week off before school starts here next week, so it's going to be quite chaotic. I'm hoping to blog (and comment) regularly once the boys are back in school. Until then, here's a quick project I did over the weekend.

I'm sure you've seen the spray painted mason jars all over Pinterest. I decided to make some for Halloween. I really love the candy corn ones but I only had black paint so I had to make do. I gave each jar two coats of paint. While they were drying, I hand-stamped two coffee-dyed tags with tricks and treats.

Once the jars were dry, I took some orange and brown seam binding and tied them together to the ridge area of each jar. Then I added my coffee tags using some twine. Super easy!

I'm not sure if I'm going to use these for candles or Halloween treats.

I was fooling around with my stamps and ink, and made these spooky spider web candles for Halloween.

I know some people roll their candles over the stamp, but I actually do the opposite. I roll the stamp over my candles using Staz On ink. It's a little tricky with smaller stamps, but, overall, I have good results.

I added some orange rhinestones to the middle of each web for a little sparkle and then tied them together with black tulle.

Another inexpensive project. I had everything I needed!

In between the beach and a bridal shower this weekend, I was able to hit my local Goodwill on Sunday. It's not as good as the one near my Mom's but I got some goodies to share.

My 7 year old picked out the plate. He wants to use it this year for Santa's cookies. How could I refuse - especially when I saw the Paris postmarks on there!

I swear I was just about to buy a similar bottle holder from Save-On-Crafts. Glad I didn't! This one is missing a bottle but it was only $4.99.

I also got a little ceramic white bird. These were originally at Michael's. I had one with a chipped beak so this one will replace it. The bunny piece was just too cute, so I had to get that too.

My boys got a couple of video tapes and we wound up spending about $15. Not a bad haul!
