A craft, food, fashion, home & shopping blog

Remember the little hand mirror I picked up at Goodwill that was missing the mirror?  Well, here it is now.
I wanted to use a Victorian image for it and found this perfect one from The Graphics Fairy.
I printed it out onto cardstock and then carefully measured it so it would fit into the mirror.  I used some silver glitter around the inside edges and added some rhinestones and faux pearls to each lady for a little bling.
I think the image fits perfectly as it adds just a touch of color.

Super excited by this morning's Goodwill finds.  The last few times I've gone, I've come out empty-handed.  Not today!
Excuse the photos.  It's a dark, dreary, COLD day here yet again.  Anywho, how cute is the little lantern?  It was half price so it was 85 cents.  The beeswax candle is getting tossed; I just wanted the little crate.  The metal urn will be first up in the makeover department.
I love this little flower basket.  I'll be ditching the flowers though and keeping the basket.
This tall candlestick is definitely  getting a chalk paint makeover and probably a Frenchy touch or two.
My favorite piece is this hand mirror.  It's actually missing the mirror.
But that's fine by me!  I'm thinking of adding a Marie Antoinette image or Victorian lady with some bling.

Not a bad haul for $18 total!

There is this marvelous photo floating around Pinterest of an Easter nest in an urn.  Perhaps, you've seen it?  I was so excited because I had all of the components I needed for a quick copycat.
I got this little urn a few weeks ago at Goodwill.  It's the perfect size to add a little nest.  It could probably use a few coats of paint but I do like the chippy look.
I added some faux green moss from the Dollar Store and perched my little nest on top.  Then I added my little bunny - which I can't for the life of me remember where I got it.

Super simple and a sweet Easter copycat!

I picked up these petite ornate frames at our new Goodwill on Monday.  They measure about 5" for the big one and 3" for the little one.  They were a little tarnished but I recognized the potential and snatched them up for about $6 for both.
Here is the before.  Don't you love the detailing?!  And here they are after a couple of coats of spray paint (yes, I braved the cold just so I could spray paint these!).
I wasn't sure whether to leave them empty or add some pictures.  While I'm deciding, I added these two lovely religious photos from The Graphics Fairy.
It's amazing what a couple of coats of paint can do.
What do you think?  Keep them empty or keep the religious photos?

I was super excited to find out that a brand new Goodwill opened up just 2 minutes from my house!  The ribbon-cutting was on Wednesday, and I popped in on Thursday.  It was nice and clean but way too early for any real treasures.  A lot of Target cast-offs but I did manage to find this sweet pedestal bowl:
Not sure if you can see the etching on the sides.
I couldn't get a really great shot because of the glare but this one is a little better.  Here it is now with some candy hearts for Valentine's Day.
I also picked up these great vintage salt and pepper glass shakers.
Still trying to decide on whether or not to keep them or list them in my Etsy shop.  Decisions, decisions...As for the store, I give it another week or two before people start making more donations and I'll be back to find more goodies!  It's going to be hard not to stop in there every week.

Brrrrr...it's quite freezing here.  On days like this, I like to do a little online shopping since I'm not a big fan of braving the cold.  I'm still sticking with my new year's resolution of not buying stuff we don't need.  However, since I play Santa each year, these were some post Xmas gifts I bought for myself.
Don't you love this little metal mail pouch from Farmhouse Decor Shop?!  For now I have it hanging in the diningroom until I find a proper spot for it.
I was so sad when I missed the twine and scissors deal on Decor Steals a couple of weeks ago.  As luck would have it, Lucketts had it too, so I was able to scoop it up afterall!
These are some finds from my Mom's local Goodwill.  I believe the square cloche is a butter dish from Home Goods.  I'm going to use it as, well, a cloche.  The little salt shaker looked so sad on its lonesome, so I grabbed it for 59 cents.  I'm going to add some lace and make it more pretty.

I have my eye on a few other online treasures...
