Beachy Porch Reveal

May 02, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I'm just about done with the finishing touches on our beachy porch theme.  I have a few more things to add like Dollar Store sand buckets, candle holder jars (with sand), citronella candle buckets and the anchor plaques.  Here we are as of today. We spend a lot of time on our porch swing.  I bought the cushion from The Christmas Tree Shops.  It's not included in my $100 budget as I bought it before I...

A Few More Nautical Touches

May 01, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
My beachy porch theme is slowly coming together.  I'm just waiting on a few more items and then I'm pretty confident I've reached my $100 budget.  Here a few new pieces that I added yesterday. Of course the entire room is my dream office, but I also really love the clipboard idea so I did a quick copycat. These are hanging out on a bookshelf until I can figure out where I want to hang them.  I have a few more to work on.  I just added some white...

Upcycled Shabby Basket

May 31, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
My late mother-in-law gave me this basket a few years ago.  It got a little beat up over time so I decided to give it a bit of a shabby chic makeover: It was originally brown but I gave it a few coats of pink spray paint to soften it up.  Once the paint was dry I hot glued some vintage lace trim around it.  I am still debating on whether or not to do...
