Menu Holder Inspired by Mamie Jane's

by - June 19, 2011

I just loved the menu holder Jane from Mamie Jane's made a couple of weeks ago.  I knew I wanted to use the same menu image she used from the Graphics Fairy and when I came upon this letter holder on Friday, I knew it would be a perfect match:

I spray painted it pink and then used sandpaper to shabby up the edges.  Then I printed out my cafe and menu images and used some Distressed Ink to "age" them.  I used mod podge to glue them to each spot on the front.

Now I have the perfect spot to store our takeout menus!

  1. Cute project! I think my grandmother had a piece similar to this in her kitchen. Using it for takeout menus is a good idea.

  2. AH!! SO cute. I love the Graphics Fairy. That's a great idea too...a collection on menus in a nice spot (instead of up on the fridge like mine). :-)

  6. It is a great idea we only have 2 menus and no one delivers. So it wouldn't get much use at my house.

  8. Thanks for stopping in to visit us. My mother had an organizer like yours that hung in our kitchen as long as I can remember. Good reuse of a vintage find.

Thanks for the shout out! I love your version, it's a great use for the old letter holder. I just love both the Menu and Cafe typography, it really does lend an elegant look to the piece.
Now you have inspired me to go find one of those letter holders!!
