Remember the scale bucket I picked up over the weekend at a garage sale?!  Here it is with its new makeover.
First, I gave it a few coats of flat white spray paint.  Then I printed off this great French grains image from The Graphics Fairy onto waterslide decal paper.  I added it once the paint was dry and am loving it!
It's just how I imagined it would turn out.  It was calling for some lavender.  Lucky for me, I have a few bunches lying around.
And here it is hanging in my tea room.

It's the perfect height for when I walk in and am greeted by the delicious scent of lavender.

I am the world's worst wreath maker.  Yup, I admit it.  And while I could probably easily plunk down $20 or so to buy one, I'm just too frugal to do it.  I wanted to add something, anything to my front door for Spring...
This fleurs basket is from Marshall's.  It's normally hanging in my tearoom.  I bought it a couple of years ago and as luck would have it, it fits into the skinny place between our wood door and the glass door.
It's holding a bundle of lavender.   Note the plastic wrap still on the lavender.  Completely on purpose because I don't want to be picking up lavender buds every time we open and close the door.  What's nice, though, is we get a sniff of lavender every time we come home.  And, of course, wreath problem solved!

I always have an abundance of lavender buds on hand for sachets and such.  I've always stored it in a ziploc bag.  Not very exciting.  This morning I decided to make this lavender bottle and jars:
The bottle is an old lemonade one.  I used this pretty image from the Graphics Fairy on the front.  I printed it onto label paper (ssssshhhhh...don't tell UPS but I used some of their label paper!) and simply stuck it on the front of the bottle.
Then I draped some ribbon around the neck and secured it with a button.
For the mason jars, I printed out two different lavender images, also from the Graphics Fairy.  They kind of look similar but they are two different images.
I tucked the cards into each jar and added the buds - leaving enough room to enjoy the image and still be able to get the tops back on.

Now I have a pretty new way to store my lavender buds!

What is it about bees?  They drive me insane outdoors but I love, love, love them for craft projects.  A certain irony there, don't you think?
My sister Kathy (Creative Home Expressions) used some great bee images for some items in her Etsy shop from The Feathered Nest.  She directed me there a couple of weeks ago and I downloaded this sweet little bee image.
I thought it would look pretty on this shabby floral fabric so I decided to turn it into a lavender sachet.
It smells wonderful!  And the bees look so friendly and sweet.  Maybe it's time to call a truce with the real ones?

Sticking to my new year's resolution to use what I already have for future craft projects, I whipped up this sweet little lavender sachet today.  I have a gazillion of these little glassine bags and thought they'd make for a nice sachet:
I simply hand-stamped the French script on the front.  I added the little birdy as an after-thought and I quite like it now.
Then I added some lavender buds.  I stitched the opening closed.  And guess what happened?  You couldn't smell the lavender!  Doh!  So I had to poke itty bitty holes all around it so you can actually smell the aroma.  I get just enough of the smell without it being to overpowering.

Now to figure out if I want to add it to my unmentionables drawer or the hallway closet.  Decisions, decisions...
