Upcycled Scale Bucket

July 29, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
Remember the scale bucket I picked up over the weekend at a garage sale?!  Here it is with its new makeover. First, I gave it a few coats of flat white spray paint.  Then I printed off this great French grains image from The Graphics Fairy onto waterslide decal paper.  I added it once the paint was dry and am loving it! It's just how I imagined it would turn out.  It was calling for...

Bigger Than a Bread Box

July 24, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
Or is it a milk tin?!  Whatever you call it, I picked this up at Home Goods a few years ago.  We used to have it on our porch but it didn't quite fit with my beachy decor, so off to the shed it went. I dug it out yesterday to give it a Frenchie makeover. This seriously took four coats of white spray paint to cover.  Holy moly, I was in a cloud of...

Tin Can Alley

July 03, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I wasn't able to go garage sale shopping last weekend so I turned to items I had readily available for some quick makeovers. Yup, food cans.  The big one is from a can of baked beans.  The smaller is from a can of alphabet soup (my little guy's favorite!). It's amazing what a few coats of paint and some lovely French graphics can do to some lowly tin cans. The images are from The Graphics...

Frenchy Touch for Ikea Pitcher

April 10, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I've had this pitcher from Ikea for a few years now.  Last year, I added a coffee label to it using Mod Podge.  Unfortunately, it started to peel off.  Can't have that, now can we?  So yesterday, I gave it a new Frenchy makeover using waterslide decal paper. I have to say this is one of my favorite Frenchy images.  It's making the rounds on Pinterest so be sure to download it when you can!...

Upcycled Tool Carrier

April 06, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I was able to get some painting done. This little tool carrier is from Michael's.  I bought it a couple of years ago.  It originally said blossom.  Sadly, it got a little dingy over the years so I gave it a fresh coat of paint yesterday. Since I painted over the blossom, I added two...

Two Dollar Target Buckets Makeover

March 16, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I picked up two of these little metal buckets from Target (in their $1 section) last week.  They were $2 each.  I broke out some Annie Sloan chalk paint to give them a shabby/Frenchy makeover. First I gave each bucket 2 coats of ASCP.  I wasn't worried about being sloppy because I wanted them to have a shabby/chippy paint look. Next I printed off my graphics onto waterslide decal paper.  (I told you I'm obsessed...
