Vintage Religious, Wedding Matchboxes

June 03, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
I came across a stash of small dollar store matchboxes I bought over the holidays. I love when I find something I completely forgot about.  It's like getting something new without having to spend any money.  I've really been admiring the matchboxes that Petite Michelle Louise and A Little Bit French make.  Thank you ladies for the inspiration for these: All of the images are from the Graphics Fairy (thank you, Karen!).  I simply printed them...

Petite Alice in Wonderland Frames

June 02, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
I picked up this pair of frames at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago.  What made them so very interesting is that they had a small piece of canvas in the back instead of the usual cardboard backing.  I wasn't sure what to do with them since the canvas kept falling out.  Finally, I decided to test some Avery label paper on the canvas part and here's how they came out: I love...

Wooden Spools & Woman's World Etsy Coupon

French Slate Plaque

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend!  We were so busy with company and barbeques that I was only able to get one project done.  I actually remembered to take a before photo for once: I don't even remember how we acquired this.  I'm certain I didn't buy it at a garage sale and my husband doesn't think someone in his family gave to us.  Either way, it needed a makeover stat! After a few coats...

Recycled Food Cans Turned Patriotic Candle Holders

May 24, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
We have a busy weekend planned, so I wanted to share some quick patriotic candle holders I made using some food cans. Even though these aren't quite Memorial Day images, I think they still represent our patriotism.  I printed them out from the Graphics Fairy.  I mod podged each image on and then gave each a quick spray of clear paint. Once the paint was dry, I added some German glass glitter and some random...
