Frenchy Pringles Canister Makeover

October 09, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
Sour cream and onion Pringles have never looked so good!  Yes, after enjoying the chips, I saved the canister so I could copycat one of my favorite Pinterest pins. This was my inspiration.  Lovely, right?  This blogger used an oatmeal canister.  And here's my version using the Pringles canister. I wrapped the canister in vintage sheet music to start.  Then I printed off this great French image (courtesy The Graphics Fairy) onto plain white paper....

Acorns and Mason Jars

September 18, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
What do you do when you have thousands upon thousands of acorns and their caps in your yard?  If you're me, you scoop them up and use them for some autumn-inspired candles! Yes, I actually went around the yard scooping up these little acorn caps that seem to fall day and night thanks to our mighty oak - and some squirrels and raccoons. I added them to some small Mason jars with pumpkin-scented (yum!) votives...

Shabby Fabric Pumpkins

August 09, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
Yes, I know I'm incredibly early for fall, but I just couldn't resist making some shabby fabric pumpkins this morning. I also added some tea-stained seam binding to the tops of each bottle.  I rolled up some French...

Valentine's Day Banners

January 02, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
The Xmas decorations are tucked away and a new year has begun.  Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away and I can already feel the love!  It's been bitterly cold here - the perfect weather for staying indoors and crafting.  I whipped up two banners over the weekend that I plan to use for Valentine's Day. This sweet Marie Antoinette image is from Etsy.  I've used it in several projects and never tire of...

Embellished Apothecary Bottles

December 18, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
Because I refuse to do any sort of shopping these last few days before Xmas (crowds, traffic, etc. - no thanks!), I'm doing some projects with items I already have in the house.  Last night, I decided to embellish some of these apothecary bottles I pick up whenever I'm at a garage sale. I added some vintage lace on the first one using spray adhesive.  Then I wrapped some vintage French poetry book paper around...
