Bring on the Bling

October 14, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I really love embellishing old tobacco tins.  I used to collect them so I have a nice stash of them just waiting to be transformed.  The first one I did was for Halloween.  My second one has more of a Frenchy touch. I broke out the Mod Podge and some vintage sheet music to start.  I cut my sheet music to size and then Mod Podged it on.  Once that was dry, I added one...

Playing Dress Up

March 05, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I just love dress forms, don't you?!  I have about 20 in the house of varying sizes.  Some are fabric; some are metal.  I think I have one in just about every room in the house.  Here is my newest one: Someone posted a lovely dress form template on Pinterest.  I used it to make this cardstock tag that measures a little under 8.5" x 11".  First, I printed it out onto regular white paper. ...

We had the perfect weather here this weekend to get a little spray painting done.  I immediately got to work on the cloche stand I got from the Unique Thrift Stores.  You can see the before in the post preceding this one.  Here is the after: I used pink for a soft, spring look. I added a vintage lace doily on the bottom and this little nest with eggs. I thought it was still missing...

Champagne Anyone?

February 23, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
After a bit of a blogging respite, I'm feeling much better now.  I swear the germs in our house are going round robin.  In between blowing my nose and coughing up a lung, I remembered a champagne bucket and stand I got over the summer at a garage sale.  I wanted to paint it white but my husband talked me out of it.  Still, I had to do something to jazz her up: I decided...
