**Don't forget to enter my Country Living magazine book giveaway here!** It's a bit of a rainy, miserable kind of day here. The kind of day when you don't feel guilty staying indoors. While the boys were busy playing this morning, I broke out some jewelry pieces and whipped up these two necklaces. Each is backed with French book paper. Then I added some of these lovely religious images. For this piece, I added a...
Broken Dress Form Peat Pot
April 30, 2013 / BY Okio B Designs
I'm a firm believer that if life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. Case in point, my broken dress form peat pot. I bought some rub-on transfers from Joann's a couple of weeks ago. The tissue paper got stuck in my printer not once, not twice but three times. And you know what they say about three times. Plan B: I used some old French book paper and pages from the Romeo and...
Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers
June 14, 2012 / BY Okio B Designs
We found these vintage salt & pepper shakers at a garage sale a few months ago. They are silver-plated and screw off to reveal a glass holder for both the salt and pepper. Really unique. I wanted to give them a Frenchy makeover: First I added my favorite vintage lace with some hot glue. Then I added the metal picture holders to each one. I was thrilled that they actually fit into the existing holes. I...
